The answer is absolutely YES for a number of
reasons:
- Of course we all know that there are good and bad contractors,
workers, builders and developers. The problem is, you don't know
because everyone will say that they are good!
- Developers and builders did in the past and will always promise
that they have inspected everything and hat there is no problem.
Obviously they have to say that, but fact remains all of them are
biased towards their "product". If you like an UNBIASED
report, get an inspection!
- Contractors always found and always will find shortcuts to save
money, often resulting in defects.
- Even good companies sometimes have bad supervision of workers
-sloppy work or worker means sloppy product.
- Time pressure and deadlines have caused failures in the past and
will in the future. Things are overlooked and "fast tracked"
- A simple pipe joint or electrical connection installed by a
sloppy worker can cause you serious headaches, even be dangerous.
- Construction Materials may be sub-standard or cause problems, i.e. Chinese
drywall, Fake copper wire, bad window construction, lousy, cheap but
great looking plumbing fixtures, etc.
- In this country sub-standard construction equipment and quick fixes are very
common, even with big companies. The results may impact the product!
A thorough inspection will catch deficiencies and you can get the builder or developer to fix these problems BEFORE you
make your final payment and move-in.
Worse case scenario: You paid an inspector and nothing was found. You
still have Peace of mind and the assurance that you bought a great piece
of property.
